The Adler family

Uriel Adler, born in Mitau (now known as Jelgava) on June 25,1886.
His parents were Isaac and Michla Adler.
In 1912, he Uriel married Gita who was born in 1885.
Uriel died at the hospital in Libau on February 1, 1941 after suffering paralysis.

Gita Adler was murdered in July 1941.
In 1918, Adler's family moved to live in Libau (Liepāja)
Uriel and Gita Adler had four children:

1) Eldest son: Isaac Adler born on April 2,1913 Mitau, Isaac was named after his paternal grandfather. On the 04/02/1935 Isaac married Hava Niselsohn who was born in Riga on 02/08/1910 daughter of Joseph Elijah and Gittel Niselsohn. - The Niselsohn page-

On October 22,1937 was born their eldest daughter Tzvia named Hava's grandfather (Hirsch Niselsohn who died several months earlier.). The family lived in Riga. On the 09/10/1941 Hava and Isaac were together with their two daughters to the ghetto of Riga. On November 30,1941 according to official records the Riga Ghetto, Hava and their daughter Tzvia were executed.

 Isaac escaped the ghetto and went into hiding the date October 10,1943 to October 13,1944 and thus saving his life. In 1945 Isaac married Lia, They had two sons. After the war Isaac was suffering from heart problems and in 1974, before he was supposed to come to Israel, he died in Riga. In all the years they lived in Riga, Isaac and his sister tried to find someone from the Niselsohn family, they did not know Scheina, Hava's sister, lives a few blocks from them.
His second wife Lia died in 1976 in Tel Aviv.
2) a second daughter, born in Mitau Tova Adler on January 13,1915.

 Tova Adler married Moduch Milstein son David and Tema who was born in Dvinsk on August 2, 1908. The couple lived in Riga and in 1941 and had a daughter named Irina. Morduchi Milstein was a policeman in the army and he took his daughter to Tashkent and Tova and Morduch survived the war, but their daughter Irina died as a baby. After the war, Tova and her husband returned to Riga, they lived in Riga until 1967, when they immigrated to Israel. Morduch died in 1978 in Tel Aviv. Tova who was the last surviving family member of the Adler family died in 1998 in Tel Aviv.

3) Third year: Zila Adler was born on 10/15/1916 in Mitau. Zila was married to Abraham Leibowitz, born on May 19, 1910 in Libau.

 The couple lived in Libau. On 09/03/1936 their only daughter was born - Michla Bluma Leibowitz.

In July 1941 the couple and their daughter were murdered. Last known address is St. Barts 15-5 in Libau.
4) The youngest son of Abraham - Wolf Adler born 8/12/1924 in Libau, Abraham was a student when the war started and worked to create a paper factory, he lived with his mother, sister Zila, her husband and their daughter. Abraham was assassinated in July 1941 in Libau.
