The descendants of  Moses Benjaminsohn

Moses Benjaminsohn  was born in 1846 in Goldingen to Benjamin- Jankel Benjaminsohn, born in 1804 in Neuhausen  and Feiga, born in 1803 in Goldingen.( Benjamin-Jankel Benjaminsohn was the first cousin of Wulf-Hirsch Benjaminsohn) His wife was Beila Nurick, born in 1846 to Abraham Nurick, born in 1804 in Goldingen to Itchke "Shkedder" Nurick, born in abt 1770 in Schkeiden, Latvia. Moses' wife, Beila Nurick, was actually the cousin of Bernhard's wife Bassa( see below). Moses is the biggest mystery as it has been impossible to find out where or when he died? As an adult he lived in Libau, and supposedly he was the leader of a Russian military band. Unfotunately, there is no death record for him there. In about 1900, Moses' widow Beila came to South Africa to live with Bernhard, so Moses dies before then.

They had children:
- Annie Benjaminsohn, born in 1871 in Goldingen. Died in Boston, MA, USA.
- Lily Benjaminsohn, born in 1879 in Libau( birth not registered, as for many girls then). Died in Port Elisabeth, South Africa on October 17, 1955
- Masha, born in 1889 in Libau( birth not registered). Died in Port Elisabeth, South Africa on  October 3, 1955.

- and Benjamin ( Bernhard) Benjaminsohn, born on March 28, 1870 in Goldingen.

Betty worked with a number of her sisters managing general stores and hotels in Port Elizabeth, Alexandria and Graaff-Reinet, South Africa. They and their children emigrated again to New York in 1907, and Bernhard worked as a bandmaster in the vaudeville industry in New York until he died in 1923. Betty lived until 1937. Their eldest son  Morris (Moses) was a plumbing contractor in New York, and his son was  Albert who served as a radar specialist in the U.S. Navy during the Second World War and then worked as an electronics engineer for Hewlett-Packard. Albert is still living at the age of 92!
