"This is my maternal grandfather's first cousin Yankel Brozgol (changed his first name to Jacobo when he migrated to Barcelona, Spain in the early 1900's.
 There was an oral history in the Brozgol family that they were Sephardim who fled Spain during the Inquisition, a belief
for which we now have strong DNA support .

 We believe that there are other families in or near Rezekne who might also have Sephardic ancestry."
