Rabbi: Falk Gurvich, born to Shimel  in 1837. Registered in Ashmyany.  In 1879 he married the widow of Rabbi Markuze, Dvora, born in 1844. He died of  Chronic Bright's disease in Ventspils on June 15, 1897 at the age of 60. He was succeeded in 1898 by Rabbi Efraim Samunov.
