The match factory:
In 1868, the merchant Shlomo Jankelevich Zaks( Sachs) ' 1642- 1902)
established a match factory,
situated betweens Shosseinaya st and the
Orthodox cemetery.
It was one of the largest enterprises in the city.
The factory employed 700 workers. Source
