When Sheina was eight she lost her
father, Joseph Elijah Niselsohn. Her mother Gittel and her brother Mane
were busy at work in the family business. Since early age, Scheina
worked with her two sisters, Sara and Eida in their store. She was also
known among unmarried actress of Riga by her beauty.
Scheina's marriage and transformation into a mother
When she was 19, she married the love of her youth. Peisach Aarmerman
who was born Fridriachstadt. Scheina was the first of her siblings who
got married in spite the fact that her siblings were mich older than
her. Peisac and Scheina had a daughter named Ella. The marriage did not
last long, Scheina and Peisach divorced, which was rare in those times.
Scheina lived with her mother and her daughter these after the divorce.

Her mother, Gittel Niselsohn was afraid that the divorce will prevent
Scheina to remarry, but these fears proved false when Scheina met Simon
Lejzer from Jelgava. Not long passed and the two married in late 1938
and they had two daughters: Frieda and Riva. Shayna and the girls lived
in Riga and Jelgava.

Scheina's eldest daughter, Ella, was left to live in Riga with Gittel
Niselsohn, Scheina's mother. Gittel Niselsohn, who worked at the family
business, devoted most of her free time to spend with her grandchildren.
Second World War
When the war started, Simon was recruited into the Red Army. Scheina
and her two daughters with Simon found themselves in the Riga ghetto.
Scheina's little daughter Riva fell ill and died when she was marking
only a few months old.

Scheina and her middle daughter, Frieda, had
escaped from the ghetto and came to Kazakhstan when they do not know
anything about family members left behind. During the war Scheina
received a telegram from the Red Army informing her that her husband
Simon was killed in a battle not far from Moscow.
Asi Lurje, Sheina's Grandson writes:
"This the only pages that I have from Yad Vashem on Scheina and Frieda.
The
page on Frieda is about the Ghetto also.
She was just a child and
she says she doesn't remember anything about her life at the time of the
war, only after she came back to Riga and Scheina never talked about
it... she used to say very little... it's kind of sad she didn't share
it with the family, she died young and now no one really know what
happened.

After the war
Scheina came back to Riga when the war ended, she married Abraham

No one else
in her family except her brother in law Isaac Adler, and his sister

Scheina's in law's
lived in close proximity but she never met them and did not know they
actually survived the war. Her infant daughter who was born after the
war, Tauba Lurje, died in her sleep at the age of six weeks. Scheina
had a lot of tragedies in life, but she kept her grief private shared
her pain with God as evidenced by all of her loved ones.

Shayna died at age of 49, in 1964, after suffered from a massive brain
haemorrhage and kidney failure. She is buried in the cemetery of
Shmerly, in Riga. Scheina's demise had left her family in Riga - a
husband, children and grandchildren.
After the death of Scheina, her sister in law who lived in Amsterdam,
Lia Juhl nee Slobodkin was hoping the family will move to Amsterdam,
which was not carried out at the end. -

Family resemblance
Niselson family, very much alike in appearance, Scheina was almost
identical to her cousin from New York, Evelyn Niselsohn and Scheina's
sister Ida Niselsohn, was identical to Ruth Niselsohn, Evelyn's sister.
