Dinaburg (later Dvinsk) station was built in 1861 In 1889, before the station was built a chapel in honor
 of Saint Alessandre Nevsky, on the occasion of the miraculous rescue of the Russian Emperor Alexander III and his family during a train derailment near the railway station Borovka at Kursk-Kharkov-Azov railway in 1888. According to the decision of the Riga city Council, the chapel was demolished in 1925.
 The station building was demolished in the 1960s, due construction of the new station.

Rabbi : Dr.Abraham Neumann (director of the first Jewish school in Riga). He was born in Geroldshausen, Germany in 1809 and died in St Petersburg in 1875. His wife Mina, born Getz died on 22/01/1860 at the age of  45.
