Cholera Cemetery: The
Jewish Cholera Cemetery in Vecā Forštate (suburb) on
peninsula of Sunezers Lake dates from the 17th century. Only
one-half of one broken tombstone from the 1830s. Next Oldest Cemetery:
Totally destroyed by the Soviets in the 1970s. A few old tombstones,
including some famous rabbis, were transferred into the Daugavpils
Jewish cemetery. Original cemetery is no longer in existence." Source
