Kusel Usdin was my Granduncle, born in Vishki in Circa 1884 to Beines Jankelevich Usdin and Sarah, née to Kusel Alterman. Kusel was my Grandfather's eldest brother.

Kusel escaped the holocaust as he fled or was deported to Siberia in the 1940 ies. He was married to Rebbeca Aronovna, born in 1890. After her husband's death in Barnaul, Rebecca returned to Leningrad and is burried in the Preobrazhenskoi Jewish cemetery of St Petersburg.

Gorelectrotrans also published a book of the 70th anniversary of the trolleybus traffic in St. Petersburg, where David is mentioned several times.

In 2009, I drove to Barnaul, trying to find infos about Kusel and his tomb. I met Rabbi Yisroel Noach Kamenetsky and David  Melamed.
The Jewish cemetery doesn't exist anymore. David and I drove to an Orthodox cemetery and looked at the registry, trying to find Kusel's grave in the Jewish section.
